Generation Gap



Those born before 1986, belong to the “Compromise generation”. They are defined by the need for savings, the need to sacrifice; they are given to domination by elders, and have a pathological need for security.

“The Zap Generation”, those born after 1986 are a mutant lot. They are about, not technology, but the speed of technology; they have their own code language. They have an ego; they are global, knowledgeable and sexually liberated, they indulge in themselves and have no role models.”

The compromise(d) and the retro generations think today’s young are flippant, shallow and attention deficient. How can they be the future?

Howe ever the Zap Generation has in-depth knowledge about all subjects. They know any subject better than their parents. They have a different kind of intelligence. If we don’t listen to them, we will fade out. When this generation becomes 30-45 years old, they will not be in a compromising situation. Their logic is sharp and their arrival is very good for India’s future and we must create leverage out of their knowledge.

 If you need to understand this generation, you need to first know your own child at home. You must feel and think like a 30-year-old, thirty because it is the age of unstructured emotion and passion. If you behave like you are above 45, you have an issue. These people belong to either the compromise generation or, if they are older, the retro generation. They are disconnected from the Zap Generation. 

A question arises, why the abrupt cut off of 1986?
1986 born is 25 years of age today ,
It is the post Liberalization 1.0 (1991) generation 
who must have started earning and enjoying the fruits of economic liberation.
This group has individual identity and independent thought process.

#celebrating60s Atmanirbhar 41 kms run. Self supported Run. Nutrition, hydration, illumination and music all carried on back. Thanks K Sanjay Singh for giving company in the last 5 kms, pacing and helping me climb the "wall". I dedicate the Run to Dr Pranesh Patil Gaikwad, senior Anesthetist Ghatkopar, fellow runner, co trekker, and travel buddy, with a prayer.. recover soon dear friend. I continuously prayed for him during the run and could finish the run smoothly. The collective prayer of all will smoothen his recovery. We have travelled to many places together, but many are still on the bucket list. Recover soon Patil so I can begin planning.
